“The Dexter Yarn Company manufactured, carded, and combed yarns, mercerized cottons, floss, and specialties thread for the dry goods and notions trade, as well as the prized ‘Dexter Knitting Cotton.’ (1) They also sold instruction/pattern books, packets, and leaflets, which created a demand for their thread.
