TELECLASSES AND WEBCASTS
WOMEN ON QUILTS
Kimberly Wulfert, PhD - Moderator
Women on Quilts is for and about women engaged in a business within the wide world of quilts. WOQ is for all women who contribute meaning to their lives and others through quilting.
It is through transparency and discussion about what we do that we build our credibility and value in the eyes of the world market. It is also how we tell young girls and women choosing careers to look over here when thinking about their future. We, as women, are our best source of information about why and how we do business in the quilt world. Only we can pass this knowledge on to other women.
What I am reflecting on is how a woman's cognition, attenuation and personality affect her manner of doing business. Women think differently than men, and science has shown women naturally multi-task and men don't. Did we need science to tell us that?
Women’s brains are literally wired differently than male brains. We have the benefit of both sides of our brain being more available to us than men because we have more crossover connections naturally in our brains. Viewing the world from our minds paints a bigger picture, taking more into account when making decisions, seeing choices, and considering implications of each action we take.
My programs are not by any means limited to women, but most of the guests and listeners will be women. Men are welcomed to contribute and share their point of view.
I will offer classes and seminars some of which will be helpful to all artists and business people, as creativity is an energy needed in any pursuits if it is to be effective and satisfying. Fears, blocks, obstacles, motivation and learning are aspects working on some level in every woman’s life.
My teleclasses and webcasts will cover such topics as:
-
how to do research, from finding your topic to completing your project using the left and right hemispheres and intuition,
-
how to date quilts and fabric, and other history topics.
Calling upon my academic background and experience in psychology topics will include:
-
building confidence,
-
fearless speaking in front of groups ,
-
using perfectionism to your benefit
-
using healthy attitudes & beliefs in your work,
-
releasing blocks, fears, and negative thinking
-
finding approaches to living you life pursuing creativity, of which quilting and fiber arts are highlighted.
Teleclasses, webcasts and interviews will have a live Q&A segment. Questions can also be submitted in advance to interviewsbykim@gmail.com.
