RESEARCHER’S CORNER
WHY STUDY QUILT HISTORY
Quilt History is a piece of women’s history and these artifacts and stories need to be documented and saved so they will not be forgotten. Here’s the thing: Washington crossed the Delaware and got a lot of press about it, but no one mentions the items Martha made to kept him warm, but where would Washington have been without Martha’s contribution? It’s time for these ladies and men, who picked up a needle and created these beautiful works of art to be recognized, studied, and remembered.
